RESULTS

In her four terms, Chairwoman Elise has delivered real results for her community. Her Bipartisan effort have led to jobs, better health care, veterans benefits, and protections for our rights.

Participated in Over 1,200 District Stops and Events

NY-21 is one of the largest geographical congressional districts in the country, and Elise has been able to attend over 1,200 events across the district since serving in Congress to meet with constituents and hear their concerns firsthand.

Responded to over 250,000 Constituent Letters

Accessibility and transparency have been key priorities for Elise while serving in Congress, which is why she has responded to over 250,000 letters from NY-21 constituents addressing their concerns and answering their questions.

Ensuring Our Most Vulnerable Have Telehealth Access

Telehealth Access

I successfully fought to extend Medicare and Medicaid’s emergency telehealth waiver program for at least 22 months. During COVID-19, many patients have used telehealth services to treat their non-COVID-19 related health issues. We need to extend this waiver program so that our most vulnerable can continue to use this resource while staying safe from the coronavirus.

Providing Resources to Treat Addiction and Curb Abuse

Curbing Opioid Abuse

I helped pass important legislation that will provide resources to treat opioid addiction and curb abuse in our communities, including limiting opioid supply for temporary-use patients and boosting controlled substance monitoring. The opioid crisis has unfortunately had devastating impacts on the North Country, and I am proud to be leading the effort to combat the opioid epidemic.

Protecting Our River Communities

Fighting for our River Communities on Water Issues

After my advocacy, the International Joint Commissioners addressed the significant water level concerns of our River communities and began an expedited review and additional study of Plan 2014. I have heard directly from constituents impacted by rising water levels and have had the opportunity to see the flooding firsthand, and I will continue to work with the IJC, local elected officials, stakeholders, and affected constituents to ensure that we address their concerns and provide them with the support that they need.

Securing Telehealth Funding for North Country Families

COVID-19 Telehealth Funding

I was proud to secure over $25,000 in telehealth funding for Families First in Elizabethtown. This funding will ensure that North Country families can remotely receive the behavioral health services that they need, which is especially important during COVID-19.
