I sounded the alarm on Biden’s baby formula shortage back in Feb, & I’ve fought to expose & end this crisis, including introducing legislation to help get formula back on shelves. As a new Mom, I’ll continue this advocacy until shelves are full.
Stopping Dangerous ‘Bail Reform’ to protect our communities
Kathy Hochul’s dangerous ‘bail reform’ laws have cost lives. I helped introduce the Stop Enabling Repeat Violence and Endangering (SERVE) Our Communities Act to help incentivize New York to implement policies that will stop dangerous criminals and hold repeat offenders accountable.
Holding Biden Accountable for his Fatal and Catastrophic Afghanistan Withdrawal
Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal was the most significant foreign policy failure in a generation, & Americans deserves answers. I passed a bill to establish an investigatory commission in the national defense bill to hold the Biden admin accountable.
Protecting Corrections Officers
Elise fought hard to ensure that our corrections officers were allowed to wear personal protective equipment while serving on the job. This was a critical step to protect our COs and their families from the threat of COVID-19 while doing their jobs.
Patrick Underwood Law Enforcement Protection Act
Elise supported important legislation that increases penalties for assault on a federal officer in US code by heightening the fines and establishing mandatory imprisonment for assault with a deadly weapon. We must support our law enforcement now more than ever before, and I’m proud to Back the Blue.
Integrating Technologies to Empower Law-Enforcement (INTEL) at Our Borders Act
Elise introduced the bipartisan INTEL at Our Borders Act that will direct the Department of Homeland Security to create a comprehensive strategy to integrate emerging technologies as part of our nation’s border security strategy. The bill also addresses our personnel shortage on our northern border, which is especially important here in NY-21.
Securing Pay for Corrections Officers
Elise fought to make sure that corrections officers and their families got the compensation that they had rightfully earned while serving our communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Biodefense Response and Prevention
I was proud to lead the effort to clarify our national biodefense strategy and implementation plan. The COVID-19 crisis has illuminated the need for a more comprehensive biodefense strategy so that our nation is better prepared to combat future public health threats.
Holding China Accountable
I was proudly appointed to the House China Task Force. China needs to be held accountable for their cover-up of the initial spread of COVID-19, and I’m focused on leading the U.S. to counter the Chinese Communist Party.
