Stefanik to silent NY21 Democrats: End your silence

Since running for Congress, Elise Stefanik has strongly stood against political brinksmanship, and has always opposed government shutdowns. Congresswoman Stefanik has kept her promise to North Country voters, consistently voting to keep the government open. While Senate Democrats shamefully play politics by holding government funding hostage, Elise continues to work through the weekend to ensure we fund the government and the bipartisan Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Stefanik announces legislative package to combat opiate scourge

Rep. Elise Stefanik has co-sponsored a series of bills designed to combat the entrenched opiate epidemic. The bills rolled out on Wednesday as part of a bipartisan heroin task force include legislation that would allocate more funding to hire specialists at veterans treatment courts, end a ban on Medicaid reimbursement for drug treatment for incarcerated addicts, crack down on “doctor shopping” for pain medications and expand access to medication-assisted treatment for pregnant and postpartum women, among others.

Stefanik’s independence: Congresswoman has spurned partisan politics

Politics in 2017 was another year of movement to the extreme. The shift to fully partisan politics began years ago and accelerated during the closed door sessions that created the Affordable Care Act (also called Obamacare). Democrats’ unwillingness to engage in open and transparent bill development disenfranchised and angered Republicans and voters.

Stefanik Announces Over $1 Million Cash on Hand

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today announced over $1 million cash on hand in advance of the 2018 election. Stefanik, who received donations from every county in the 21st District, also received strong support from local labor organizations across the North Country.

Funding for Lake Champlain restored

North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-Willsboro) co-sponsored the bill, which was written by Vermont Congressman Peter Welch, a Democrat.
