SARATOGA, N.Y. – House GOP Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik released the following statement after this Spectrum News report:
“Even Kathy Hochul’s own party knows that her devastating multi billion dollar CDPAP Medicaid home care scandal reeks of corruption. The most vulnerable patients and hard-working health care workers across New York suffered immensely because of Kathy Hochul’s corruption and she egregiously abused billions of dollar of taxpayer funds. This is a major, major corruption scandal in New York State led by the Governor using taxpayer dollars.
State Sen. James Skoufis said Monday Gov. Kathy Hochul’s decision to veto seven of his bills is political retaliation as his investigation into changes her administration made to a $9 billion Medicaid home care program moves forward.
“I guess after all these years, she still doesn’t know who she’s dealing with,” said Skoufis, a Hudson Valley Democrat who has frequently criticized Hochul’s administration. “I’m unfazed with that kind of behavior.”
A worker with the firm at the center of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s scandal-plagued Medicaid homecare program allegedly siphoned off cash from potentially thousands of participants. The employee of Public Partnerships, LLC — the company hand-picked by Hochul’s administration to act as the sole payment go-between for the state and participants in the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program — had been falsifying the direct-deposit information of up to 10,000 participants, sources told The Post.
“There is a bill draft from early April that names PPL. It wasn’t in the enacted version because the Senate pushed back on a no-bid contract. But the executive came to us naming PPL in a no-bid contract. Then miraculously, PPL gets the award a few months later…”
