SARATOGA, N.Y. – House GOP Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik released the following statement:
“The Worst Governor in America Kathy Hochul and her political cronies at the New York Power Authority fight to raise utility rates on hardworking families while they burn fuel traveling on their $7.5 million private jet.
Now, families across New York brace for bigger bills to heat their homes. If you think utility rates are high, just wait until Hochul’s hurtful and radical Green Scam mandates begin.
Rather than offer suffering families relief, Hochul the Hypocrite bans gas stoves, forces new homes to be built with only electric power, forces schools to buy electric buses, and bans you from buying gas cars. This will make her affordability crisis even worse.
Families deserve affordable, reliable energy, not Hochul’s hypocrisy, higher rates, and wasteful spending by her political appointees.”
The Buffalo News reports the New York Power Authority wants to hike electric rates, despite Kathy Hochul’s appointed cronies burning fuel to travel on a $7.5 million jet.
A National Energy Assistance Directors Association study also estimates home heating bills will increase by almost 8% this winter.
