On Hochul Putting Veterans Last and Illegals First:
CHAIRWOMAN STEFANIK:
“I’ve had the honor of representing the highest number of veterans in my congressional district in New York 21 over the past decade in Congress. We have worked to deliver millions of dollars to veterans that were owed through the VA. But what do we continue to see in New York State? They’re putting veterans last and Kathy Hochul is putting illegals first. Billions of dollars that are going to illegals rather than our state’s heroes, people that have served in the military for our nation, and yet Kathy Hochul prioritizes the criminals and the illegals who are destroying New York, making it less safe and more and more unaffordable for hardworking New York families.
We are working very closely with Doug Collins, who is my former colleague in Congress, he’s currently the secretary of the VA, to really take on this crisis among our veterans community. The suicide of veterans, I’ve worked on that issue in Congress. We’ve done significant reforms to improve veteran services for veterans all across New York State. And in my district, I represent Fort Drum, which is home of the 10th Mountain Division, the most deployed division in the U.S. Army since 9/11. So significant challenges for military families, military spouses.”
On New York’s Abysmal Healthcare System:
CHAIRWOMAN STEFANIK:
“Kathy Hochul loves to point fingers at other people. She needs to be held accountable for her failed leadership. If you look how poorly run New York’s healthcare system is, our Medicaid system, it is the worst run system in the entire country. It is laughed at. And by the way the services are completely subpar because not only is it mismanaged but it’s a fiscal waste. Even our state comptroller put out the hundreds of millions of dollars, taxpayer dollars, hardworking New Yorkers, that have been wasted in fraud and abuse in our New York State healthcare system. So while Kathy Hochul points fingers, we are demanding accountability and better. We deserve to have the best healthcare, the best run government in New York, not the worst. We’re ranked the bottom and we spend more money than any other state in the nation.”
On Hochul’s Failed Bail Reform:
CHAIRWOMAN STEFANIK:
“From start to finish failed bail reform has been an absolute disaster. Law enforcement would’ve told people that, told the governor’s office that, as it was being put into place and jammed through by single-party Democrat rule. This was a Democrat proposal. It was Democrats who shoved this down the throats of New Yorkers. And what have we seen? We’ve seen a skyrocketing of crime not just in New York City but all across New York State. We need to have a focus on public safety and strongly support our law enforcement. I will tell you, New Yorkers proudly support their law enforcement. It’s the elected Democrats in New York City and Albany that have turned their backs and instead prioritized the criminal. Every day there is another story of a violent criminal who has been released not once, but again and again and again, sometimes over 20 times. And they’re committing heinous crimes, rapes, murders, assaults. And now Hochul has chosen, when people are looking for leadership, she has chosen to bow down to Mandani, who not only wants to defund the police but abolish the police. That is dangerous for New Yorkers.”
