More than 500 Republicans packed a Vestal park Tuesday as Congresswoman Elise Stefanik headlined Broome County’s biggest political event of the year.
The 5th Annual Clambake, hosted by the county GOP, featured speeches from Stefanik, State Senator Peter Oberacker, and Assemblyman Chris Tague — plus a long list of local and state officials.
Stefanik used her time at the mic to rally support for a wave of 2025 candidates, including Aaron Martin for Broome County Clerk and Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham, who is seeking re-election. She also backed GOP hopefuls and incumbents in Vestal, Johnson City, and Endicott.
“This is the year we build a strong foundation of elected Republicans who will serve hardworking families across Broome County,” Stefanik said.
She also took direct aim at Governor Kathy Hochul, calling her “the Worst Governor in America” and saying the fight to replace her in 2026 starts now.
Broome GOP Chairman Benji Federman echoed those remarks, casting the 2025 elections as a critical launchpad.
“Republicans are united behind President Donald J. Trump and Elise Stefanik who are fighting for families across New York State,” he said.
