WASHINGTON, DC – In case you missed it, Chairwoman Elise Stefanik joined Mornings With Maria on Fox Business. |
View highlights from the interview below.
On the Importance to Vote on Election Day: “Well, we’re working to not take anything for granted. We are going to sprint through Election Day. I want to encourage everyone to get out to vote, but listen, I am cautiously optimistic. And if you look at New York, Maria, you were talking about these key Congressional races. We are seeing an overperformance of Republicans when it came to early vote and an underperformance of Democrats. But Election Day is going to matter. Every vote is going to matter. Democrats have spent over 100 million dollars to try to flip five seats in New York State, and we have to hold the line. And I think President Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden was brilliant. He is going on offense in states that Democrats feel that they’re entitled to, and Donald Trump has a higher approval rating in the state of New York than our own Democrat governor, Kathy Hochul.”
On Kamala Harris’ Smear Campaign Against President Trump’s Supporters: “No. Those words speak for themselves, Maria. The closing argument from Kamala Harris’ failing campaign: Joe Biden called Trump supporters ‘garbage.’ You had Kathy Hochul, another top surrogate, saying that the supporters and voters for Donald Trump are ‘anti-American’ or voters for any Republican candidate are ‘anti-American.’ And then of course , you had Mark Cuban, a top ally and surrogate and fundraiser for Kamala Harris, say that President Trump ‘does not surround himself with strong, intelligent women. Nothing could be further from the truth. You see women such as Lara Trump. His campaign is managed by Susie Wiles. He has many strong allies–strong, intelligent women in Congress–I’m proud to be one of them. You have governors like Kristi Noem and Sarah Huckabee Sanders crisscrossing the country with many of us working to turn out the vote. And then look at President Trump’s record. He had a tremendous record for economic opportunity for women, better than any modern day president. There were more women in the workforce than ever before in President Trump’s economy. We had the highest wage and salary growth ever in history when it came to women’s employment under President Trump’s economy. And we also had safety and security. Women care about all those issues. And it is very important that we turn out to vote and make those voices heard. But the closing argument from Kamala Harris’ campaign has been to smear voters who are supporting President Trump. And President Trump is focusing on unifying the American people to secure the border, grow our economy, and bring peace through strength and national security.”
On Republicans Being Ready to Return to the Policies of President Trump: “Well, we’re ready on day one. We’re already working on the first 100 day agenda, and the good news is we’ve already passed a number of bills that Chuck Schumer has failed to bring up. So when the Republican Senate flips and we have President Trump in the White House, number one, secure the border. We passed the Secure the Border Act, and Chuck Schumer failed to bring it up. Every Republican supported that bill. Number two, unleash energy independence. We need to have an all of the above energy approach, and we need to make sure we return to energy dominance when it comes to U.S. energy rather than this Green New Deal garbage: the Green New Sham that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have put forward. In addition, we want to cut taxes whether it’s no tax on tips, no tax on social security, that will be part of our tax discussion. And remember, Kamala Harris wants the largest tax increase in our nation’s history: a trillion dollars in new taxes. President Trump is going to build upon the effective tax cuts that he passed in his first term. We’re also going to make sure that we support and reduce regulations for manufacturing. Under President Trump, we experienced a renaissance in American manufacturing. We need to do that even more. And then of course, strengthening our trade deals. All of these are effective ways to grow the economy, secure the border, and really, solve the crises that Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have created.”
On Biden-Harris’ Failed Foreign Policy: “Well, it just shows the incoherent and the failed foreign policy of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. And let’s make no mistake here, Maria, at every opportunity Kamala Harris has turned her back on our most precious ally Israel. That’s why you’re seeing, among Jewish voters, particularly in the state of New York, President Trump is winning Jewish voters. Look at his record: you had the Abraham Accords, the first peace break through a normalization in a quarter of a century. You had the movement of the embassy to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel. You had the recognition of the Golan Heights, and you also had the executive action to combat antisemitism and expand Title VI protections for Jewish students on college campuses. What have we seen under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris? You had the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan. You had Putin invading Ukraine, and then you had Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist attack Israel. And both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris failed to condemn the antisemitism raging on our college campuses. President Trump is the peace president. He brings peace through strength with strong national security. I worked with him on that on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Intelligence Committee. And what have we seen? We’ve seen war and chaos and catastrophe and a weakened national security. So the reason why Kamala Harris is speaking out of both sides of her mouth with different messages is because they have an incoherent, weak foreign policy. It’s time we return to a strong Commander-in-chief, and that is no question President Trump.” |
