WASHINGTON (WCAX) – Representative Elise Stefanik is calling for aid for the North Country as they have been dealing with flood damage in July.
Stefanik sent a letter to Governor Kathy Hochul asking for her to request a presidential disaster declaration.
That declaration to FEMA would unlock resources that will help the North Country rebuild after flash flooding on July 10.
Stefanik says that the disaster assistance request has to be submitted within 30 days of the incident, so the clock is ticking.
