GLENS FALLS, NY–  Today, the Sergeant Benevolent Association (SBA) of the New York City Police Department endorsed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for re-election to Congress. The SBA represents over 13,000 active and retired sergeants of the New York City Police Department. Many retirees live in NY-21.

“On behalf of the Sergeant Benevolent Association (SBA) of the New York City Police Department’s more than 13,000 active and retired members, I write to advise you of our endorsement of your re-election for New York’s 21st Congressional District. We are grateful for your support of law enforcement in New York City, throughout the state, and across the nation. We also appreciate the work you have done to advance several SBA federal legislative initiatives that are critical to our members and the larger law enforcement community,” said Vincent J. Vallelong President of the Sergeant Benevolent Association of the New York City Police Department. “Throughout your tenure in Congress, you have demonstrated both a commitment to aiding police in their important work of keeping people safe from crime and ensuring that when officers are injured or killed in the line of duty, they and their surviving family members receive the respect and support they need and deserve. It is for these reasons we endorse your re-election to New York’s 21st Congressional District.”

“I am honored to earn the Sergeant Benevolent Association of the New York City Police Department’s endorsement and proud that many retired SBA members chose to retire in Upstate New York and the North Country. During my time in Congress, I have worked with the SBA to ensure that our law enforcement officers have the resources they need to keep our communities safe and the benefits they have earned in retirement. In the next Congress, I look forward to continuing to work with the SBA to deliver real results for our law enforcement officers and their families as Republicans work towards restoring law and order in America,” said Congresswoman Stefanik.
