Stefanik travels to Montgomery, Oswego, and Oneida Counties for the first time since redistricting
ROME, NY — On Monday and Tuesday, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik met with hundreds of voters and elected officials across three new counties in New York’s 21st Congressional District—Montgomery, Oswego, and Oneida—which marked her first visits since the New York State Legislature passed new congressional lines.
The Congresswoman traveled more than 500 miles and made 10 stops that included meeting with local elected officials, small businesses, and families in Oswego County,joining a roundtable discussion with Montgomery County Executive Matthew Ossenfort and Sheriff Jeffrey Smith,and touring Rome Lab and Griffiss Business and Technology Park with Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente,Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon,and Rome Mayor Jackie Izzo.

The expanded NY-21 district voted for President Trump by 19% in 2020, nearly doubling the margin in the prior NY-21, and voted for the GOP gubernatorial candidate in 2018 by 30%. Congresswoman Stefanik has been re-elected by historic margins every single election cycle despite millions of dollars spent against her. The new seat has been described in multiple media outlets as a “GOP Super Seat.”

ROME SENTINEL: Stefanik sees region, Rome Lab in tour of new district
“‘Congresswoman Stefanik needs no introduction,’ Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente said. ‘Not just New York in terms of the Congressional Delegation, but the entire Congressional Delegation knows Stefanik. Her work in the House has been remarkable, and I couldn’t be more pleased to have her represent this area.’
Stefanik has served as congresswoman for the 21st district since 2015 and serves as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee. She’s worked to deliver funding for Rome Laboratory in the National Defense Authorization Act over the years.
Just last year, $30 million was secured for three projects in quantum innovation and unmanned aerial systems. In 2022, $10 million was secured to establish a quantum network computing testbed program at Rome’s Air Force Research Laboratory.”

“Officials and residents in western Montgomery County are leaning into the outcome of redrawn congressional districts by getting to know their possible future leader at the federal level, Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Schuylerville.

“‘Local officials at the press conference, after being ‘on the verge of (their) seat’ to see how the districts would end up, seemed to be happy that Stefanik was going to be their new representative.
