Stefanik announces first endorsement of the election cycle

Ballston Spa, N.Y. – Today at a roundtable discussion at Curtis Lumber, the largest home builders’ organization in New York, the New York State Builders Association(NYSBA),announced their endorsement of Congresswoman Elise Stefanik in her re-election campaign in New York’s 21st Congressional District. This is the first endorsement announcement of Stefanik’s 2022 re-election campaign. It also marks a rare and powerful endorsement by NYSBA, which traditionally does not endorse in Congressional races.
On the endorsement from NYSBA, Congresswoman Stefanik stated,
“I am humbled and excited to earn the endorsement of the New York State Builders Association. It is a privilege to represent thousands of hardworking innovators, home builders, and workers across the North Country as we work together to address Joe Biden’s labor shortage crisis, unconstitutional mandates, and the highest inflation in decades,” said Stefanik. “Today’s announcement comes as I introduce the Employer-Directed Skills Act, which will address Biden’s job crisis by empowering America’s job creators to provide new opportunities that prepare workers for today’s in-demand positions.I look forward to continuing my work with NYSBA as we fight back against Joe Biden and Democrats’ failed policies to build stronger economies and communities here in the North Country and across America.”
Lewis A. Dubuque, Executive Vice President of theNew York State Builders Association, announced the endorsement ofNYSBA:

Speaking at the roundtable,DougFord, Vice President Curtis Lumber welcomed Congresswoman Stefanik back to Curtis Lumber:

Rita Ferris, President of the Northeastern Retail Lumber Association (NRLA) stated:
“The price of lumber has skyrocketed in the last year, and there is still much more to be done to achieve pricing stability. Congresswoman Stefanik continues to advocate for the retail and lumber industry, and she understands the real impact rising prices and labor shortages have on our economy both locally and nationally.”
NYSBA serves as the voice of the residential construction industry in New York. NYSBA currently represents 2,000 members, including builders, developers, building and property managers, remodelers, and suppliers. The association’s members employ over 200,000 New Yorkers. There are roughly 350 members of the NYSBA in the Capital Region and across the North Country.
The homebuilder industry has been impacted by various issues under Joe Biden’s economy, including rising inflation, a labor shortage crisis, and an all-time high increase in lumber prices.
Congresswoman Stefanik hasopposed the Democrats’ reckless spending in the $4.9 trillion American Rescue Plan. Stefanik also joined over 160 House Republicans in sending a letter to President Biden urging him to address the global supply chain crisis.
