WASHINGTON, D.C. | The North Country Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a $26k federal grant to provide leadership and e-commerce trainings locally.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded the North Country Chamber with a $26,500 grant to help further their local small business training offerings.

The Rural Business Development grant will create 31 jobs and support an additional 64 jobs in Clinton, Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence counties.

“Our small businesses create the backbone of our communities, and I am proud to announce the USDA is recognizing the North Country’s small businesses in rural areas,” U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik said Aug. 31 in announcing the funds.

“This Rural Business Development grant will lead to job creation, job support, and stronger business practices for our rural businesses.”
