New Windsor, NY –Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt (R,C,I,LBT,SAM-New Windsor) has received the endorsement of Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Chair of the House Republican Conference, in the race for New York’s 18th Congressional District. Rep. Stefanik is the highest-ranking Republican woman in the country and the third highest-ranking Republican in the House of Representatives.
Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Chair of the House Republican Conference stated, “I am pleased to announce my endorsement of Assemblyman Colin Schmitt to be the next Congressman from the Hudson Valley. Colin is a proven leader who currently serves as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard and as a legislator who has worked across the aisle to deliver results for his constituents – something his opponent Sean Maloney, Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked Democrat Campaign Chair, knows little about. Hudson Valley residents are enduring complete one-party Democrat control in state and federal government and it is time we restore checks and balances by flipping this district and ensuring Washington is accountable to New Yorkers again.”
Rep. Stefanik continued, “It is no surprise that the NRCC has placed NY-18 at the top of its target list to fire Pelosi – this district is a priority to win and we have a top-notch candidate in Colin Schmitt who will win and represent this district with distinction. I look forward to serving with Colin Schmitt in Congress. I urge all to support his efforts to take back this seat and ensure the Hudson Valley has a Congressman, not a Democratic Campaign Chair representing its values in Washington.”
Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt stated, “Thank you to Congresswoman Stefanik, the highest-ranking Republican woman in the Country, for endorsing our campaign to ensure our Hudson Valley values are represented in Washington. For far too long, Sean Maloney has put his own partisan agenda and interests ahead of our own. Voting 100% of the time with Nancy Pelosi and being rewarded for his blind loyalty by becoming Democratic Campaign Chairman. Sean Maloney has sold us out. He has turned his back on the Hudson Valley, our families, and our police. I am proud to serve as one of the most bipartisan members of state government. Now more than ever we need someone who understands that. I look forward to earning the votes of my neighbors representing our community in Congress.”
Colin Schmitt is committed to public service. Colin is a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and Assemblyman for the 99th NYS Assembly District which includes the Town of Stony Point in Rockland County and The Towns of Wawayanda, Goshen, Hamptonburgh, Chester, Blooming Grove, New Windsor, Cornwall, Highlands, and Woodbury in Orange County. Colin lives in the Town of New Windsor with his wife Nikki and their beloved adopted Catahoula Quincy!
