WASHINGTON, D.C. | A new bill co-sponsored by U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik now looks to extend the Paycheck Protection Program deadline through the end of June.
On March 11, Stefanik helped push a bill introduced by U.S. Rep Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) to amend the Small Business Act and the CARES Act to extend the deadline to apply for funding beyond March 31.
“More than $128 billion for small businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program remains, but the deadline to apply is less than three weeks away. North Country small businesses are still hurting, and it’s absolutely essential this bill is passed to give them more time to determine their loan amount eligibility, file an application, resolve any potential issues, and access these critical funds,” Stefanik said in announcing the measure.
