ELIZABETHTOWN | The Housing Assistance Program of Essex County will soon get a much-needed financial boost by way of a $170,000 grant from NeighborWorks America.
Established by Congress in 1978, NeighborWorks America is a public non-profit organization that aims to support and enhance communities across the nation.
U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik announced the funding Feb. 17 and said “As many North Country residents face the economic challenges wrought by COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to invest in our rural communities to keep housing costs low, sustain neighborhoods, and preserve jobs. This federal funding will do just that for our rural communities in Essex County and beyond.”
