Saratoga, NY: Today, Elise for Congress released the 77th Result in the campaign’s 100 Days, 100 Results program highlighting 100 of the critical wins that Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has delivered to the North Country.
“Dairy is one of the most significant economic drivers in NY-21,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “That’s why I cosponsored the Dairy Pride Act, which would protect our dairy farmers from other producers unfairly labelling their non-dairy products as milk.”
You can view this Result here.
This bill amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to prohibit the sale of any food that uses the market name of a dairy product but does not come from an animal, and does not contain milk as a primary ingredient. This will prevent North Country dairy producers from being negatively affected by the producers of non-dairy beverages, such as almond and soy products, unfairly benefitting from the ability to label their products as milk.
Elise for Congress will release a new Result each day through the November 3rd election to highlight the campaign’s laser focus on Real Results for the North Country.
