Eligible veterans can use VA benefits at River Hospital for mental health, PTSD care
ALEXANDRIA BAY — Eligible military veterans seeking mental health care or treatment for post-traumatic stress can now be referred by the Department of Veterans Affairs to use their benefits at River Hospital.
The hospital offers care through its Veterans Program, an outgrowth of its Military Partial Hospitalization Program, which serves active-duty military personnel at Fort Drum.
“For too long our region’s veterans could not easily use their benefits outside the Department of Veterans Affairs network and too often needed to travel long distances to receive PTS treatment,” said Ben Moore, River Hospital CEO, in a statement. “With today’s announcement, the veterans who valiantly served our country can access River Hospital’s services with little or no wait time.”
