GLENS FALLS, NY— In a team effort led by GOP House Conference Chair Elise Stefanik and statewide Republican candidates, four Republicans flipped key battleground seats in New York to help deliver the House Republican Majority: George Santos (NY-03), Anthony D’Esposito (NY-04), Mike Lawler (NY-17), and Marc Molinaro (NY-19). All four of these districts were previously won by Joe Biden.

BREITBART: Republicans Sweep All Four Long Island House Seats

Republicans credited the success on Long Island to Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), the third highest ranking House Republican, who worked behind the scenes to ensure a successful election night in state House races.

Stefanik told Breitbart News on Wednesday she was “proud” to deliver huge upsets in New York state for the Republican Party upon predicting Republicans would earn back the House majority.

“I am proud to have led this effort from successfully challenging Albany Democrats’ greedy and illegally gerrymandered maps thrown out, to working tirelessly to help elect hardworking candidates George Santos, Mike Lawler, Anthony D’Esposito, and Marc Molinaro who flipped districts,” she said. “Last night New York Republicans saved America by ending failed one-party Democrat rule in Washington. Make no mistake: New Yorkers flipped the House.”

WASHINGTON EXAMINER: How deep-blue New York became a GOP bright spot amid tough midterm results

Stefanik, who handily won her reelection bid Tuesday night, pointed to Republican Mike Lawler “firing Sean Patrick Maloney,” the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, as well as the projected victories of George Santos (R-NY) in a congressional district on the North Shore of Long Island, Anthony D’Esposito’s (R-NY) upset in the Democrat-leaning 4th Congressional District lining the southern shore of Long Island’s Nassau County, and Duchess County Executive Marc Molinaro (R-NY) flipping an upstate district as evidence of the GOP’s strength in New York.

NEW YORK POST: Republicans win at least 10 NY seats in bid to retake control of House

Stefanik, who is the House Republican Conference chairwoman and campaigned across the state, echoed that sentiment.

“Make no mistake: New Yorkers flipped the House,” Stefanik said in a statement. “Last night New York Republicans saved America by ending failed one-party Democrat rule in Washington.”

“For months, I promised that New York would be where Republicans would earn back the House majority and that’s exactly what happened last night,” she added.

NBC NEWS: House Democrats’ campaigns chief loses re-election race in New York

THE NEW YORK TIMES: If Democrats Lose the House, They May Have New York to Blame

As Democrats sought to maintain their narrow House majority in this year’s midterms, they counted on New York to be a crucial bulwark. Instead, as the party mostly outperformed dire predictions across the country Tuesday night, one of the nation’s most liberal states morphed into perhaps the most powerful drag on its chances.

….

“House Republicans would not have a majority if it were not for the State of New York,” said Representative Elise Stefanik, the top-ranking New York Republican in Washington, who predicted that the party would also fend off what was considered to be a prime Democratic pickup opportunity in Syracuse. “How about that irony?”
