Glens Falls, NY: Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today released the following statement on three reckless legislative items enacted into law by Governor Cuomo, adding $300 million in added regulatory costs to our farmers and recklessly jeopardizing the integrity of elections statewide.

“With the legislative passage and enactment by increasingly far-left Albany Democrats led by Governor Cuomo, the final days of our state’s legislative session have proven a clear assault on Upstate’s hardworking families, farmers, and voters.

“I strongly oppose automatic voter registration and the issuing of drivers licenses for illegal immigrants. I also join almost twenty non-partisan agriculture organizations in opposing Governor Cuomo’s reckless legislation crushing our farmers with burdensome regulations and more than $300 million dollars in added costs per year.

“I am proud to represent thousands of North Country farmers, who serve as the backbone of our economy and deserve the opportunity to compete on a level playing field and build enduring legacies for their future generations to come.

“As your representative in Washington, I remain committed to election integrity and security, and will continue working to protect the sanctity of our elections across our great state of New York and across our nation.”
