STEFANIK PRAISED FOR PROMOTING MANUFACTURING JOBS IN WATERTOWN

“Results Tour” Campaign Stop Highlights Bipartisan Efforts to Reform and Reauthorize Vital Export-Import Bank Program

Watertown, NY: Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today met with employees and senior leadership members of manufacturing company New York Air Brake in Watertown, another in a series of “Results Tour” campaign stops across the North Country highlighting her bipartisan record of results for the 21st District.

At today’s “Results Tour” event, Stefanik was praised by the company’s senior leadership for her bipartisan efforts to reform and reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, an essential economic program critical to manufacturers and job creators like New York Air Brake, and many others across the North Country.

Stefanik thanked the leaders and employees who make New York Air Brake one of the most reliable producers in the world today, and said the Export-Import Bank program was vital to the company’s continued economic success.

“The employees I met with today reaffirm my strong belief that American workers can compete, and win, against any other nation in the world,” said Stefanik.  “But, we have to make sure we have a level playing field.”

“I’m focusing my campaign on the real results we’ve accomplished for families, and for manufacturers like New York Air Brake. I’m proud of my bipartisan record of support for reforming and reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank, because we can’t leave our manufacturers behind,” she said.

“The Export-Import Bank plays a vital role in the success of New York Air Brake,” said Mike Hawthorne, the President & CEO of New York Air Brake.

“We commend Congresswoman Stefanik’s leadership and bipartisan approach in preserving this important program for the North Country.”

Congresswoman Stefanik cosponsored H.R. 597, the Reform Exports and Expand the American Economy Act in January. She also cosponsored H.R. 3611, the Export-Import Bank Reform and Reauthorization Act of 2015, which is identical to the Senate’s reauthorization bill.
