FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday, September 22, 2022

GLENS FALLS, NY– Today, The Lieutenants Benevolent Association of the New York City Police Department endorsed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for re-election. The Lieutenants Benevolent Association represents more than 5,200 active and retired Lieutenants, including retirees who reside in Upstate New York and the North Country.

Louis Turco, President of the Lieutenants Benevolent Association of the New York City Police Department, stated:

“The Lieutenants Benevolent Association of the New York City Police Department, with more than 5,200 active and retired Lieutenants, is pleased to endorse Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for reelection to the United States House of Representatives representing New York’s 21st Congressional District. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is absolutely opposed to any and all calls to defund the police. Instead, she is one of the few in Congress who has called to increase federal funding for law enforcement. She co-sponsored the JUSTICE Act (introduced by Senator Tim Scott and Congressman Pete Stauber), which is legislation to protect police, improve police-community relations and expand police officer training. Since her election in 2014, when she became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress, Elise has proven to be a strong and unwavering supporter of law enforcement. Based on the above, the LBA proudly endorses Elise Stefanik for Congress.”

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik stated:

“I am thrilled to earn the endorsement of the Lieutenants Benevolent Association of the New York City Police department and the over 5,200 active and retired NYPD Lieutenants they represent. Many LBA retirees call Upstate New York and the North County home and I am so proud to serve as their voice in Congress. I look forward to continuing to work with the LBA in the next Congress to build on my proven track record of delivering real results for our law enforcement community. I will always Back the Blue!”
