Saratoga, NY: Today, the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82 endorsed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for re-election. Council 82 represents over 3,500 Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs, County Correction Officers, State Correction Lieutenants, Emergency Dispatchers, and other Public Safety personnel across New York State, including approximately 800 members who live and work in the 21st Congressional District.

“The New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82 is proud to endorse Congresswoman Stefanik for re-election,” said Ronald Walsh, President. “Elise has done a great jobfor the 21st District, and we are so grateful for her strong and unwavering support of law enforcement, correction officers, veterans and military families. Elise’s opponent, Tedra Cobb, consistently demonizes law enforcement officers for doing their jobs. Ms. Cobb politicizes officer safety and supported Nancy Pelosi’s dangerous and ill-advised anti-Police bill, which every sensible person knows would make it nearly impossible for law enforcement to properly protect our communities, return to their families each day, or provide for their futures. This election is so important for law enforcement and for our families. We look forward to supporting Elise every step of the way and continuing to work with her after her victory in November.”

“I have been a consistent and vocal advocate for our law enforcement families, and I am proud to have earned the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82’s endorsement in recognition of my efforts,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “Our law enforcement officers, including the brave men and women of Council 82, are incredible heroes who risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe. We must stand up for those who serve and protect our great nation, and I will continue my work to Back the Blue in Congress.”
