STEFANIK HIGHLIGHTS REAL RESULTS ON PTSD PROGRAM FOR FORT DRUM SOLDIERS

Praised for Ensuring Continued Military Care at River Hospital “Results Tour” Stop

Glens Falls, NY: Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today held another in a series of “Results Tour” campaign stops to highlight her strong, bipartisan record of results on key issues facing North Country voters.

Today’s “Results Tour” event, held at River Hospital in Alexandria Bay, focused on Stefanik’s successful efforts to ensure the continuation of the hospital’s well regarded, and much needed, outpatient PTSD program serving members of the Fort Drum Community. The program includes a sexual assault trauma program to protect female service members.

Stefanik toured the Hospital after a roundtable discussion of the program with River Hospital CEO Ben Moore, III, and a host of key Administrators and Trustees, who praised her efforts last year to ensure military men and women serving at Fort Drum continued to have access to the program as outpatients.

“Last spring, when this program first became in danger, we were able to work together to secure vital resources necessary to its continued success,” said Stefanik.

“I’m proud of the fact that we were able to work together as partners – my office, the leadership at Fort Drum, and the leadership here at River Hospital – to make sure this program continued to be a strong resource for the men and women who serve our District, and our nation.”

River Hospital CEO Ben Moore, III, said, “”

“This kind of partnership, between Fort Drum and private health care facilities like River Hospital, is a great model for the future of both our District and for the country,” Stefanik continued.

“It’s a great example of creating more flexibility in government that adapts to the modern needs of our communities, and the kind of results I will continue to deliver for the 21st District moving forward.”
