Supporting Veteran families
This Congress, I introduced a bipartisan bill to take action for the family of World War II veteran Ernest Peltz. This legislation helps veteran families overcome bureaucratic hurdles at the VA and secure accrued pension benefits for an ailing or recently passed veterans. I will always support veteran families.
Supporting the Readiness of the 10th Mountain Division
As the Chief Advocate for Fort Drum, I’ve fought to ensure 10th Mountain Division soldiers have the support and resources they need. In this year’s National Defense Bill, I helped secure $65 million in funding to make sure 10thMTN soldiers have needed equipment for Arctic combat.
Strengthening our National Security by Countering Russia and China
As a member of the House Armed Services and Intelligence Committees, I have fought to help combat threats to the U.S. from foreign adversaries. In the national defense bill, I helped secure a provision prohibiting DoD funding to entities that maintain contracts with China and Russia.
Supporting Veterans in Rural Communities
Our veterans in rural communities need access to critical resources and care. I am proud to have sponsored legislation that would permanently fund the VA’s rural transportation program.
Strengthening Gun Rights for Military Spouses
I have been and will always be dedicated to protecting our 2nd Amendment rights. I cosponsored legislation to strengthen the 2A rights of military spouses by changing the federal code to help the spouses of active-duty U.S Armed Forces service members purchase firearms.

Recovered $5.5 million for NY-21 Veterans
NY-21 is home to one of the largest veteran populations in the nation. My office has proudly recovered $5.4 million for NY-21 veterans. Those who selflessly served should not face bureaucratic failures at the VA, and I will continue to secure critical benefits for our brave veterans.
Pay Raise for Troops
Elise brought President Trump to Fort Drum to sign our national defense bill, which she helped write and pass, that included the largest pay raise for our troops in a decade. Elise has always supported and stood up for our troops and to serve them in Congress.
Passed the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act
Elise led the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act, which President Trump signed into law, to provide benefits to our Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent Orange. Elise will always fight to protect the brave veterans who have sacrificed for our great nation.
