I’m leading the fight against Hochul & Albany’s war on family farms and rural America. I was proud to help introduce legislation that would end the overtime rule that’s devastating NY-21 farmers, & I won’t stop fighting until this is repealed.
North Country and Upstate New York dairy farmers work hard to provide nutritious milk for our communities. I led bipartisan efforts to successfully delay Mayor Eric Adams’ ban on flavored milk in NYC schools. I will continue fighting to protect milk choices in New York public schools.
I proudly supported the USMCA trade agreement, which has helped expand our markets for American-made goods and bolster NY-21’s economy. This agreement was a significant win for farmers, small businesses, manufacturers, and families.
Dairy is one of the most significant economic drivers in NY-21. That’s why Elise cosponsored the Dairy Pride Act, which would protect our dairy farmers from other producers unfairly labelling their non-dairy products as “milk.”
Elise advocated for USDA funding to incentivize SNAP recipients to buy fruits & vegetables. Both our low-income families and farmers have struggled due to COVID-19, and this funding gives North Country families access to healthier foods while also helping our local farmers boost their produce distribution.
I cosponsored the Family Farmer Relief Act, which President Trump signed into law. This important legislation will provide aid to our North Country farming families during difficult economic times. During this tough time, it is more important than ever that our family farms have the resources and flexibility they need to keep providing for our […]
I worked with the USDA to include apple growers in their COVID-19 food assistance program. Our North Country apple farmers have suffered during this pandemic, and we need to make sure that they are able to recover just like the rest of our agricultural community.
Our North Country economy depends on our farmers, and we need to make sure they have access to the resources they need to thrive. That’s why I helped the House pass legislation that will now allow our dairy farmers access to the important H-2A program which provides a stable and legal workforce so our farmers […]
I worked across the aisle to expand the milk donation program to help get milk to those in need. This important Result provides funding for dairy producers with an excess supply of milk to connect with food banks to help both our dairy farmers and our North Country families in need.
I advocated for farms and agribusinesses to be eligible for the Emergency Disaster Loan program.
