GLENS FALLS, N.Y.– Today, the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82 once again endorsed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for re-election. Council 82 represents over 3,500 Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs, County Correction Officers, State Correction Lieutenants, Emergency Dispatchers, and other Public Safety personnel across New York State, including approximately 1,000 members who live and work in the 21st Congressional District.

“The New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82 is proud to once again endorse a tireless advocate for law enforcement, Congresswoman Stefanik,” said Ronald Walsh, President of the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82. “Not only has Elise been a strong voice for the 21st District’s law enforcement, correction officers, veterans, and military families, Elise has never backed down from taking on the dangerous policies that have affected our entire state. Meanwhile, Elise’s opponent Matt Castelli supports so-called bail reform policy has put criminals back on our streets. Castelli’s refusal to reject reckless policies that hurt public safety proves that he would be just another rubber stamp on the radical Defund the Police agenda. We know that Elise will continue her track record of defending law enforcement officers, and we look forward to continuing to work with her after her re-election in November.”

I have always been a leading advocate for our law enforcement officers and their families, and I am proud to have once again earned the endorsement of the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82,” said Congresswoman Stefanik. “Our law enforcement officers, including the brave men and women of Council 82, risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe. In the face of unprecedented Far-Left attacks against our police and the rule of law, I will continue to stand up for those who serve and support legislation in Congress to Back the Blue.”
