With the ongoing crisis on our southern border, there are few people in the Biden administration that are willing to face the issue. Thankfully, for the sake of our country, there are Republican leaders that are filling the leadership positions that the current administration has failed to fulfill.
One of these leaders is NY-21’s Rep. Elise Stefanik, who recently visited the border in Texas. What she saw was nothing short of a failed immigration policy and months of failed leadership and cowardice. At this point the policy being supported by the Biden administration is the termination of Article 42, the only thing that allows illegal immigrants to be expelled to their home country due to public health concerns.
This reckless move will put not only our border patrol at risk, but also the health of the country. The irony is that the Biden Administration put Article 42 into effect, but now when it no longer fits their agenda, the pandemic is no longer an issue.
This is the inconsistency that Republicans, like Stefanik, are fighting and is the reason why she is introducing the Upholding the Law at Our Border Act. This most recent bill proposed by Stefanik will protect our border officers and the general public, while making sure the rule of law is upheld at our southern border.
