Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH) introduced the Servicemembers’ Credit Monitoring Enhancement Act, bipartisan legislation to ensure every service member has access to credit monitoring services. Currently, only active duty military and National Guard and Reserve in active duty status are eligible for free credit monitoring services.

This legislation would make all service members, including traditional National Guardsmen and Reservists eligible.
This is why I always have and will continue to support Elise. At the end of the day on issues that actually matter, she is able to get the job done, even if that means working with the Democrats.
People in this country forget that you’re not only allowed to, but that you should be working with the other side to try and find what is best for the people.

Ensuring that all service men and women have access to credit monitoring may not seem like a big deal to some, but it is life changing. We owe everything to our service members.
So at the very least we should be ensuring that they have access to services to help them stay on top of their credit. They can rest easier and plan for their futures knowing that they don’t have to worry that they will discover random cards or loans in their name months after the fact.

I think we owe them that peace and I’m glad Elise was willing to once again work with those across the aisle to get it done.
