WASHINGTON, D.C. | U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik has voted to advance a resolution (H.Res. 956) to support the people of Ukraine.

“I was proud to vote to condemn Russia’s vile actions and send a strong message to the people of Ukraine that the House of Representatives stands on their side against Vladimir Putin’s heinous invasion of their country and his indiscriminate attacks on civilian targets,” Stefanik said following the March 2 vote.

“The whole world deserves to know the bravery of the Ukrainian people as they continue their fight for a sovereign and self-governing Ukraine. I will continue to work to support the people of Ukraine.”

Specifically, this resolution condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and calls for the U.S. to deliver defensive military assistance to Ukraine, increase economic sanctions, and a number of other policy actions.

Last month, Stefanik introduced the NYET Act to impose meaningful sanctions on the Putin regime to deescalate the situation in Ukraine and send meaningful aid to Ukraine to send a clear deterrent signal to Russia.
