Watertown: Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Tedra Cobb just wrapped up their first debate on 7 News Watertown, airing tonight at 7PM. Elise Stefanik was the clear victor and demonstrated a command of the issues important to North Country voters, including military and defense, veterans, healthcare, the Second Amendment, and more.

“It’s important for voters to tune in to tonight’s debate airing at 7PM on 7 News Watertown,” said Stefanik. “We covered a range of critically important issues for North Country families, and the contrast between my opponent and I could not be more stark. I stand up for our law enforcement, Tedra Cobb voted to defund the police in the St. Lawrence County Legislature. I brought President Trump to Fort Drum to sign the largest pay raise for our troops in a decade, Tedra Cobb supported the devastating Biden defense cuts. I have worked to lower costs and improve quality of healthcare for North Country families, Tedra Cobb supports a government takeover of healthcare and is now trying to hide from her own record. I support the Second Amendment and have the highest rating from the NRA in our state, Tedra Cobb is on record saying she wants to ban guns and lie to voters about it. I do not support court packing, Tedra Cobb refused to take a position. Tonight, voters will have a clear idea of what this race is about: results for the North Country vs. Far-Left, radical resistance.”
