To the Editor:

In all of the years I have worked in the North Country, whether at Wyeth in Chazy or SpencerARL in Plattsburgh, my work has relied on reliable and fair trade between the U.S. and other nations. Especially now, many companies based right in our communities that employ thousands of hardworking men and women are international firms that would be crushed if trade collapsed.

If we are going to protect our jobs, and the means of supporting our families, we need leadership like that from Elise Stefanik. In Washington, she’s fought for better economic relations with our neighbors to the north that will only benefit our community. She’s taken her work over the border and led a delegation of North County business leaders and developers to Ottawa to foster that relationship.

We need a voice and an advocate like Elise on our side. She has the experience, connections, know-how, and will to fight for us. To all my colleagues working for companies like Bombardier, the Volvo Group, Norsk, GP, and Swarovski — know that Elise is working for us and our families, and I hope you can join me in supporting her in November.
